Spam Assassin
Our customers receive over 20,000 unwanted commercial emails per day. This clever program tags most of that mail
in a special way. It checks from a
list of a hundred or more
clues. From them, it builds a score for the mail. If that score gets too high
Spam Assassin tags the mail.
It's not appropriate to delete mail that's parsed in this way because the method is imperfect. What it does do is alter the
subject of the message to include the word [SPAM] so you don't have to waste your time opening it.
It also adds a small report to the top of the message that explains how it came to the conclusion that the message is spam.
You'll also want to visit the Spam Assassin Setup page to
learn how to configure Outlook Express
to automatically filter your [SPAM] email automatically.
